Forma ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Forma mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your name and email address.
- Habit Data: The habits you create, track, and complete within the App. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to our secure servers for backup and cross-device access.
- Health & Fitness Data (Pro users): With your explicit permission, we may access Apple Health, Google Fit, or wearable device data to auto-track wellness habits such as steps, workouts, and sleep.
- Location Data (Pro users): With your explicit permission, we may access your approximate location to enable location-based habit triggers (e.g., auto-completing a "gym" habit when you arrive at the gym).
- Usage Analytics: We collect anonymized usage data such as feature usage, session length, and crash reports to improve the App.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for app functionality and analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and functionality
- Enable habit tracking, AI coaching, and personalized recommendations
- Process subscriptions and manage your account
- Send you relevant notifications and reminders (which you can disable at any time)
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App experience
- Display advertisements to free-tier users through third-party ad networks
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate the App, including cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing (RevenueCat), and advertising (Google AdMob for free-tier users).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. Advertising
Free-tier users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to deliver personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings. Pro subscribers do not see any advertisements.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your habit data is stored locally on your device and may be synced to secure cloud servers. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Health & Location Data
Health data from Apple Health, Google Fit, or connected wearables is only accessed with your explicit permission and is used solely for auto-tracking habits within the App. Location data is only accessed with your explicit permission and is used solely for location-based habit triggers. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. We do not sell health or location data to third parties.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, update, or delete your personal data at any time
- Opt out of personalized advertising
- Revoke permissions for health data, location data, or notifications
- Request a copy of your data
- Delete your account and all associated data
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App or sending you a notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
